So this week I did a little thinking, and I’m going to start posting once a week instead of twice! Basically, for the last few months I haven’t exactly been keeping up with my good habits. I haven’t been eating as well, exercising, and I haven’t been myself. I’ve also been drinking a lot lately, and that led to greasy late-night chinese food. This week I came to a really low point and my anxiety was really bad. I knew I wasn’t treating my body right, and I wasn’t happy with how I felt. I knew exactly what I had to do.
Being at such a low point pushed me and gave me motivation. I needed to go back to when I had a good balance. I ate healthy, did my daily workout/walk or run, only drank occasionally for events etc, was always on top of all my projects and just felt amazing in general. I wondered why I ever even stopped. So my mom and I started running! We just started with running for as many minutes as we could. We started with 5, and we did two days of 5 minutes. Then we’ll do two days of 6 minutes, two days of 7 minutes, etc. until we are running for half an hour! Since I’ll be running and working out I decided I would rather post once a week, that would allow me to make one really good post a week instead of have 2 half-assed ones, for lack of better word.
Everyone has different routines, schedules and lifestyles that work for them, but I decided I would share mine in hopes it may help some of you! My plan is to do a workout & reward routine. My cousin Carolyn actually introduced it to me. What she does, is she’ll workout for a week (with rest days) then reward herself with something (a new workout clothing item or equipment etc., anything but unhealthy food!), then workout for 2 weeks, then a reward, then 3 weeks, then a reward etc. She goes up to 4 or 6 weeks and then starts back at 1 week. When there’s a reward waiting for you, it helps to motivate you! I thought that was such a good idea and I wanted to do my own variation of the reward idea. I think instead I will do a reward after each week, little $5 rewards, but then every 4th week will be a bigger, more exciting reward. I already know I want a new nice yoga mat, because mine are getting a little banged up. That will be one of my long-term rewards 🙂
Well enough about my new lifestyle and routine and more about this chia seed jam! I’m so excited about it because there’s nothing bad for you about it. Delicious jam without all the sugar from store-bought or even other homemade jams. And it’s incredibly quick and easy! I’m going to be doing more flavors in the future so look out for those! In the photos I have it swirled in some yogurt, it was super yummy. Afterwards I also added some chopped dates. Yum! I hope I’ve helped motivate some of you or helped you figure out your own workout routine, and I hope everyone is having a great week! And let me know how you like my chia seed jam 🙂
